But I also ran into some analytic (in the sense of functions of complex variables) questions. Trying to do the homework is a little intimidating since the solution manual is 9.5 years old. Feb 17, 2020 Thank you all very much for your help in the last few days. I have now obtained a copy of the Functional Analysis (2nd edition) by John M. Wainwright. It answers all my questions. Regarding the page number of the relevant exercises, I am aware that there are two lists attached at the end of each chapter. For example, the page numbers of the exercises in Chap. 1 are 1.2, 5.3, 8.5, 8.8, 9.3, 9.5, 9.8, 9.9, 9.10, 9.11, 9.13, 10.4, 10.5. The first list in each chapter contains the first page number of the relevant exercises. The second list in each chapter contains the last page number of the relevant exercises. This applies to Chap. 1, Chap. 2, Chap. 3 and Chap. 4.
